Healthy diet - healthy breakfast

Announcing the event Healthy Diet

This month I am going to host Healthy Diet event which is the brain child of Priya of Priya's Versatile Recipes.  First of all, I would like to thank her for giving me this opportunity to host this wonderful event.  We all know the importance of a healthy diet in our lives.  Eating has a very important part in our lives without which life cannot exist.  The foods we eat give use the energy and nutrition.  Fruits and vegetables are one of the healthy foods found on earth.  They provide a good source of vitamins, minerals and fibers.  So this month's Healthy diet event is going to be about healthy breakfast recipes.

We all know Breakfast is the meal taken first in the morning after a long night sleep.  Breakfast is the most important part of our daily meal but unfortunately for most of us it is easy to skip meal.  There is a well known saying:

"Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper"

This is a very simple quote which tells us how to eat throughout the day.  This tells us that you should start the morning with a fully, balanced and healthy diet with no exemptions.  As the day progresses, you should start eating light and reduce the amount of carbohydrate intake.  But do we follow this?

The food taken for breakfast varies from place to place but it often includes grains,  fruits, vegetables, milk, tea, coffee, eggs and so on.  Varieties of idly or dosa along with a hot cup of tea, coffee or milk takes an important place in South Indian breakfast whereas poori bhajji, parathas has an important place in the North.

As I have told you before, it is most often skipped.  Mostly because you are very busy, you have to get to work and don't have a time to sit and enjoy your breakfast or you feel bored of the same routine breakfast menu and want something new.

So here I am announcing a new event where you can post any dish which can be prepared for breakfast.  So friends, start posting your recipes now.
